The much talked of Baikal DR SxS has arrived available in .30-06, .308 and .223. Examined one in .30-06 at the Adelaide gun shop on Sat. Not "too" badly finshed, be interesting to see how they shoot. Couple of observations, the sight does not "come to the eye" as well as it might foresight appearing to high in the V. If that makes sense. Also I wonder if it is not a little light (in .30-06) might be a bit of a mule? It will be of interest to see how well the regulation system holds its position. The Remington distributers are not going to do their "spartan" version in Aust. as they can not compete price wise with the Russians. At around $800.00 Aust they arent going to break the bank, even if one did replace the sight it's still not expensive. Quite tempted (with reservations LOL) for a fun gun. Even considered getting one and seeing if it could be rechambered to .30-30 as a muck about pig gun. Question for the gunsmiths out there would rechambering a .30-06 or .308 to .30-30 be difficult? |
