Okay, let me put in my $0.02 worth. I owned and shot a Pedersoli .45/70. I experimented with a lot of loads in that rifle. It had an obvious liking for the standard Remington 405 grain factory load. Shot that load to a perfection. Didn't really shoot anything else, heavier or lighter.
