You can get a 470 NE and load either 500 grain cast lead or jacketed bullets (preferably something more fragile than a Woodleigh, like a Hawk) and load with XMP5744 powder. In a couple of rifles I found that 45 grains of XMP5744 regulates with a 500 grain bullet, putting velocity in the 1400 fps range. That is plenty for elk, moose, bison and North American bears.
