I don't think I explained myself / my comments as much as I should have.

I wasn't having a go at you buying new or a Blaser - I own 2 new Merkels. With DR's, it's personal choice alot of the time.

In regard to your commnet "However I am aware of more than a few people who have bought second hand and had their fingers burnt."
from my experience those who get burnt are often the one's who are always "looking for a bargain" and when one is PRESENTED as such, they buy it without actually knowing what a bargain is ! And what they buy is often not a bargain.

I work on one principle with my DR's. I get them fixed up so they are 100% and I can confidently stand in front of Dangerus Game and know the gun will work if I do my bit. Therefore no excuses need to be made
so if people are prepared to buy knowledge and no hassle's, tough.

Good luck with the Blaser. Must get around to shooting one sometime.
