For North America I believe it is hard to beat the 9.3x74R. That round will do everything asked of it in North America. It is big enough for the large bears, moose, caribou, and elk, yet the rifles come light and lively. These DR's are often scoped with claw mounted optics, which adds a lot of versatility.
