500, Agreed on all counts! The guy was clearly trying to maintain similar weights and handling characteristics. A very good idea but not really possible in a trio unless you allow a lot of cartridge overlap as you noted. The original client could have saved himself a major hunk of cash as you say by simply going with the most useful pair (7mm and .375) and calling it good. I don't suppose he really cared though as the purchase probably wasn't about utilitarian concerns...more about one-upping a buddy who'd bought a matched pair probably. Best, John |
