I don't think we've lost sight as to what a double rifle is and what is was made for.
I love my double and have a lot of fun using it and carring it on a hunt when other rifles are lighter and maybe more accurate.
With regard to accuracy, today's technolgy alows us the opportunity to fine tune a precision instrument and have even more fun in the process. Realizing a double rifle was meant for usually up front and personal hunting. Handloading and custom ammo allow these same gun's to be tack drivers.
There are guys here who have made 200 - 300 yard shots with them and love their guns even more now.
