I've have/had a Merkel (.375) and a Chapuis. The Merkel handles very nicely, but is a bit light for my taste in a 470, but is ideal in the 375. The Chapuis is just plain goofy. I could never get it to mount properly and it recoiled hard and I really hated that forearm. I now have a heavy British double that is more pleasant to shoot.
