Re: SCOUT SCOPE ON A DOUBLE??

In reply to:

Probably a railmount scope to make fine adjustments with..Problem is that Chapuis will need the scope mounted to regulate the rifle at 100 yds/?meters. I am waiting to hear from Swarovski to see if they have a claw mount adapter for their specific railmount system. May have to use a S&B instead.

The one thing, you need to watch very closely, is the weight of the scope, and mounting system, and the hight it places the scope above the rib. The heavier, a higher the scope is mounted, the more it will effect the regulation of the rifle.

I have absolutely no idea why you want a rail mount scope, as they are almost always too heavy, usually mount too high, and the fine eye relief adjustment is no better than regular rings. The regular rings also gives you a wider choice of fine scopes as well! One you might look at is the Luepold Vri-X III 1.5-5X30mm, with a German No 4 post, and crosshair reticle, with the tip of the post illuminated. This scope is a special order item, and is in the $500-$600 range. This scope is perfect for double rifle use.
