Hello all So as is unfortunately often the case.....i am having difficulty with some of my express rifle history. So,im thinking black powder, early days really...... The .577 bp express.......3" of course.......was this an elephant gun? was it only used for brain shots? were the massive 8 bores and beyond always relied upon? Am i correct in thinking that this round had the equivalent energy of the .375 h&h mag,yet wielding a .577" projectile.......i realise the penetration ability is much lower, yet i am still a little baffled. Any and all comments of great interest, and much appreciated. All and any stories of hunters using the .577x3" bpe and even its smaller brother the .500x3" in elephant hunting,if even applicable...appreciated greatly. Ben |
