Valuable lesson for a newbie to doubles.

Over the years of shooting I have taught myself how to shoulder a rifle and acquire a target; until recently this has been done on scoped rifles for the most part. Habbit has engraned that action farely well; this has served me very well until recently.... I have had to reevaluate how I hold a rifle, or at least a double, due to nearly busting my cheek and nose due to recoil. I learned, the hard way, that I have been choking up on the stock too much; its almost like I am trying to get the full view on a zoomed scope. I took multiple shots to the nose shooting this way, and realized I need to keep my face to the back of the stock. I know, your thinking this guy is not the brightest crayon in the box... But if this can help anyone else before they bust their nose or worse well I am willing to be the brunt of a few jokes. Now if I can just figure out how to keep my middle finger from smashing against the trigger guard I'll be great.
