Gentlemen: Having read the responses I recalled the shop and they informed me that it was indeed a 140-2. As I was writing this response another dealer from outstate called with an Alex Henry 450 #2 in 85% that was made for a Maharajah. It was manufactured in 1922 and has been to Africa 3 times with it's present owner after having taken 6 buff and other game. Bores are excellent and the dealer is very reputable. Price is under double of the Merkle. LOP at 14 1/2 with some honest wear. Pictures will be here on Monday and I'll keep you posted. Still not ruling out the Merkle at $7999.00 if you think it is still worth it. Thanks for all the input and if I do purchase the Henry I will let anyone interested know the location of the Merkle.
