Re: My Holland .500/.465 blew a barrel

Bwanaclark

When people saw my original post back at the top they probably thought I blew yet another barrel, fortunately that is not the case. Good to see another Holland .465 owner out there and I hope yours continues to do well. Your last paragraph describes my "new" Holland pretty well, when inspected at an auction in England recently it was wrapped in 1940's paper and apparently was stored before the war and was not brought out until an estate sale. So yes I did feel good that it was not in service to be abused by monolithic solids. Currently my 465 with 84 gr. of RL15 and your same components is shooting low and a little wide. I expect I will need to move it up a grain at a time to about 86 or 87 at about 2150 but have not gotten there yet. As you know different lots of the same powder can produce different results. BTW I shot both old (cordite ) and new Kynoch and they both averaged 2100 in my 26 inch barrel.
