Ok perhaps a little more to get those with DR's to do a little measuring. In Germanic (perhaps most continental?) guns they use the breech face and the distance is 55-60 mm forward. In most of the english guns I've got to check the POB has been about 4 1/2" in front of the front trigger (about 5" on a single trigger gun). The problem is that these are all sxs shotguns. I wanted to know how that compared to DR's. Obviously people like slightly different POB because the distance between their hands makes it feel differently for different people. Then most target (pigeon) guns have a little more weight toward the barrels where many game guns have the weight back a little further. However what I'm looking for is if there is some consensus on distance for POB or a small range. That gives that "right" feeling when you handle them. Bill |
