A double rifle in a .45/70 is probably equivalent to a .450 BPE and a fine enough medium sized game rifle at close quarters.

I doubt you could shoot the HOT .45/70 loads in a DR. 2000 fps sounds optimistic to me. And it would only be 400gr or lighter projectiles.
