I just bought a 9.3 x 74R Merkel O/U DR. It was made in '77 and it's all original and mint. I think it's had less than a half dozen rounds through it. Bascially, it's 30 years old and brand new. The only thing I don't like about it is the sights. The iron sights on the gun are small and tough for my eyes to pick up. I'm thinking about having about a 1/4 cast off bent into the stock so that the gun points like a shotgun. I also want to improve the sights so they are fast and easy to use. Does anyone out there have some advice on what I can do? Should I have a new set of sights made for the gun? BTW: I won't scope it. Thanks OWD |
