Hello,
I have the pleasure of owning a JD Dougall 12 bore which has wonderful "Highest" grade damascus barrels marked IP. I assume that these are the initials of the barrel maker.
In the DGJ issue dated Autumn 1997, Ross Seyfried described a Dougall Howdah 16 bore double rifle which has the same markings.
The vintage of my shotgun is 1875.
Would anybody know who was this IP?
I could not find any obvious match in Nigel Brown's books.
