Thanks for inputs. I certainly like the S/S rifles better because reloading is so much faster in a dangerous confrontation with buffalo. Specially when you are a bit undergunned (and so is the 9.3 for buff and ele). The problem with the Chapuis is that the SS .470 or .416 are so heavy (4.9kgs) and not a gun to hunt buff on foot. It may work for Land Rover hunting, but I would prefer go fishing than driving a car or handing my weapon to a paying help (gunbearer). I like, pardon, I love to walk 30kms in a day. And I wouldn't love it the same carrying a 4.9kg gun. It would be great to be able to find a reasonably priced .400 3" (as was asked in the other thread). Regarding the effects of drugs, I absolutely love my O/U Perazzi when I shoot olympyc clays. But I see the point with rifles. Dante |
