I would go for the 375 Flanged. Like the 9.3x74R, it is much more practicable for world wide hunting. If I intended to only hunt in Africa the 400 would be my choice. But I don't. I also love the Scottish round actions (as opposed to just grinding on the corners). I think a Daniel Fraser or MacKay-Brown would fit the bill nicely. Regulated for the 270 grain bullet and with a 1.75x6 Leupold in claw mounts. The whole thing to weigh in less than 9.0 lbs. I like engraving so I would ask Phillipe Griffnee to do something simple, his choice, which has always been good enough in the past. A nice but not flashy piece of Walnut. Might as well add a set of 20 gauge shotty barrels. I know the balance would be a bit off but a good choice for those dinky little quail in Aus. ![]() |
