Hyena engraving on a double! Superb! Having spent most of my adult life studying and loving hyenas, this is too good to be true. Now I might just have to get a spotted hyena put on my Searcy.

These are striped hyenas, common in India (and Africa). Must say, however, that charred bones are no good to no one – hyenas prefer them fresh, can eat them old and dry when pushed. Nice fresh meat is best of all. Tinker, I would love to introduce you to our hyenas in Berkeley.

That other beast does indeed look like a black wildebeest, found in southern Africa but not India.
