Most true fans of the Scottish (trigger plate) Round Action feel that the design of the solid, removeable, triggerplate allows the action to be more solid and thus, stronger. This is why the actions were rounded, to gain advantage of this design and make the action more slim and light. A true Scottish round action is far more than an A&D boxlock that's had the corners rounded off (as some have tried to market)! They are quite interesting actions especially when used for a shotgun and it seems as though no two of the old guns are alike (excluding pairs!). |
