Apparently the problem with a shotgun for following up leopards is that the buckshot just doesn't have the penetration to reliably kill or stop them. In other words, good shots, like Boddington's apparently were, don't always cut it. This would never be an issue with nearly any but the lightest DR's - or bolt guns for that matter, given even halfway decent bullet selection. But the shot must be good. JPK |
