Re: Correct weight for a modern, scoped 9.3x74R double

Had a Chapuis UGEX in 9.3x74 with Leupold 1.5x5 Vari XIII in Ruger rings (removed factory blocks in rib and made custom Ruger blocks) Decellerator pad. For me it was viscious to shoot. Shot beautifully but would give me a headache after 2 rounds. I think the minimum weight for me would be 9+ lbs. The Chapuis is the neatest,trimest double I've had but a pain to shoot. I've had 2 other Valmets in 9.3x74 and put Mercury reducers and full thickness Decellerators on both. They were shootable with scopes with no headaches. I tend to adjust to the heavy side as I really don't like a rifle that is really unpleasant to shoot.
