Re: I was just thinking about one of these

Well ask and yee shall receive.

The 375 is a decent gun. I'd say it is a definite working gun. As was pointed out by Corbin there is some definite issues with the metal finish. The barrels were only part of it. I thought the elephant on the bottom was pretty bad. Though I couldn't do better unless you like stick figure elephants . There are also a bunch of screws that looked buggered pretty well. The rib to me didn't look as bad in person as it does in the pics. Though I think it adds quite a bit of weight out on the barrels and that doesn't do much for the handling characteristics. Now the wood has some issues as well. The buttstock inletting is decent. It has a gap here or there but nothing to horrible (for a working gun). The pics I think make this look worse then in person due to shadow etc. However the forend wood to metal fit is pretty bad. From looking at the gun I think the buttstock was shortened and the current pad fitted. Neither done very well. The finish around where the buttstock meets pad is pretty rough and uneven, as though it was chipped up pretty bad and only fixed halfway.

Now onto superficial stuff. I think some of the other engraving was shoddy. Particularly the engraving on the barrels and the elephant as mentioned above. The stock was very thick and I found the angle of the grip to be uncomfortable. I'm also not very big on beavertail forends though I found this one to look nice and not feel bad the way it was done. I found the cheekpiece to be overly large for the stock.

Well those were my general opinons on that gun. Though I must say I went to look at this gun.
