Gentlemen: My 333 Jeffery has a fixed leaf for 200 yards and the folding ones sighted out to 500. Strangely enough, when regulated near appropriate velocity, it shoots very tight groups at 50 yards but about 5 inches high. The choice is to insert a higher front sight or file down the standing rear V sight. I'm leaning toward the latter, for one reason because the front sight is difficult to replace and I would have to alter another sight and file it to the dovetail. Do any of you have experience filing rear sights. I assume you use a file with the edges ground smooth for protection and proceed a little at a time, then re-blue the sight. Correct? Any help I appreciate. Thanks, Keith |
