My apologies!!

When I referred to scopes I was referring to DG rifles. I was under the impression that most DR were DG rifles as those were the only kind I had ever seen or been aware of. I agree about scopes & DG.

Actually I do have friend with an itch(need) that a rifle caliber DR with a scope would fill. I have a cattle rancher friend DB who hunts cougar with dogs who wants me to hunt with him some time.We both don't like semiauto's cause they always jam when they shouldn't and open sight lever action/handgun accuracy is lacking from some shots. He does not like thumb cocking a lever action with a scope on top. A cougar charge is not going to occur with dogs unless an obvious opening is made..A 7x 57 Double with a scope would seem perfect for this type hunt.I think I am going to put a sell job on him and hope for the best. Sounds like a fun gun to shoot.
