Many, many more Double have been made in medium and small bore than in large bore. The 'Double Rifles are for close work' is a fallacy. A well regulated medium or small bore is every bit as effective and accurate as a bolt gun with the same sights out to hunting ranges.

I think a lot of people, claiming to be experts, in the press and on some Forums have propagated this myth.
