Yes I would, and I have. I have used my 450/400 3 1/4" double in Alaska for Caribou and Brown Bear, and in Montana for Black Bear. I have also used my 9,3x74R Chapuis in Montana for Black Bear. The Montana Bear hunts were true backpack hunts in the mountains, no horses. My 9,3 has a scope in QD mounts. For smaller game, Sheep, Goats, etc I would love to have a 7x65R double rifle. My 9,3 still regulates good at 200 yards @4"groups RL/RL shooting off the roof of a car ie. no bench. [that is the farthest I have shot it on paper] If my double did not regulate well at 300 yards I would just sight in the scope for one bbl and use it like a single shot when shooting far off. I still like the advantage of 2 quick shots, especially in Grizz country. |
