Guy's I'm a "student" of this mystical practice of converting shotguns to rifles but soak up every bit of info on the subject I can... so please be kind.

PLEASE correct me if my assumptions are incorrect but turning new, longer strikers that would just barley retract beyond the surface of the breech face - making up the difference in over-all length on the other end of the striker - seems to answer this concern, does it not?

This is of course in the case of bushed strikers. Turning new pins would be so easy, especially if it would provide such insurance.
