Taking the double fanaticism to an extreme - would you use your double as a mountain rifle? Now some assumptions. Lets assume the rifle is in a suitable calibre. Say anything from 7x65R to a .375 Flanged. Lets say a lighter bullet load regulates in it and shoots flat enough. That either the shooter is good with open sights or it is scoped. It is reasonably light weight, say less than 9 lbs. Would you be happy to carry such a rifle say in the South Island of NZ after tahr or chamois or red stag? Or after mountain goat or big horn ram in North America? Chamois in Europe? Also have you don't it? The pursuit of one double gun for the world. |
