Keep saving your money in an account *just for your double rifle*
Get out and handle a lot of double rifles, there's going to be a show in Reno very soon, you might want to get out there and see what there is to see.
I'd seen a Geyger back action toplever hammer double rifle there last show, I don't think it's been sold yet and will likely be priced in the 5500-6500USD range.
There no doubt as well be others.

Take it as a good sign that your gills have been hooked by a double rifle. Let this grab of your attention linger for a while and keep your eyes out for other rifles that might look and feel right for you.
Don't hurry into the purchace of *just one* particular rifle unless you know double damn sure that it's fit and sound and shoots perfectly with ammunition that's known safe and that you can handle -- and is in your price range.

Something will come up, mabye even that same rifle...
