Gentlemen, As most of you know i bought a 458 Double Ritterbusch from Griffin and Howe recently.. After recieving it i put all my gained knowlege from this forum to the test an did an inspection as myself the expert.. Well things seemed good ..No movement, light gaps, etc.. After a week I said to myself you need to be sure of this so i sent it off to someone that i think you all would agree was an expert.. I have just recieved the final product of this inspection: Barrels: soldering ,crown, stricking, chambers look good. Slight corrosion of bores on the first 6 inchs of barrels. Action: a little play between action and barrels + - .002.. Bolting good, batteries and timing good , ejectors good, Overall good.. Forend metal: ejectors kickers and springs in good shape. Stock and forend: Good fit, bedded, grain lined up with grip .Forend wood slightly loose.. Shooting: Good function, accuracy very good.. My only concern is the action ,barrel fit + - .002 should this be corrected with a new hinge pin at this time.. Also, the rifle will be a 450 3 1/4 when i get it back.. It is in the shop now what would you Experts have done or checked before it leaves Thanks, AK |
