They protude from the shank. The idea is, the body of the bullet does not touch the barrel, only the ridges, which are "bent" back to the bullet shank. Thus these homogenious bullets are safe in double rifles. I have shot the cuppoint in my 450 No2. Shortly I will be testing the flat point solids. If they shoot as good as the cup points I will take some of both to Zimbabwe this March. The cup point is designed as a buff bullet, you get some expansion, thus better wounding, with still plenty of penetration. |
