akrange I can be prety choosy with who I sell my rifles to. One thing that got me was that he was going to go to Africa with it so it would be used - not stuck in a gun room just being looked at. I liked that as I use my guns for hunting - we are lucky here in that you can take some really good guns out (ie Holland Royals level) without them getting damaged too much. I have never seen many Lancaster Sidelocks of that type for sale - pity, they are nice guns. A lot of people don't like them due to the reputation of the Sidelock Shotgun - hence why it is called a "Wrist Breaker" - however that DR was not that hard to close and I did compare it to a Self Opening Purdey and their was no major difference. On the other hand, whe asked "isn't it hard to close" the English Gentleman said "I don't close my own guns, that's the loaders job" ? Re buying guns - just save all the little bits and pieces and it soon builds up - some people buy cars, boats, Holiday houses, some of us buy guns !!! Enjoy 500 Nitro |
