Why not a new rifle for a first timer? Wouldn't it be easier for them to pick a rifle that fit and they liked without worrying about the potential problems a used rifle might have?

What about starting off with a smaller caliber? A usable Deer or Elk rifle that will get the newbie used to Doubles without the recoil that a Big Bore has.
