Dave, I hate to tell ya, but must of us carry our doubles like that! They balance quite nicely like that! Most times it is refered to as an "African" carry! It's a hold over from safari days of yore, when the gun bearer proceeded the hunters on the stalk. It was very easy for the hunter to reach up and "take" his rifle from the gun bearer in this manner. When I am just walking between hunting areas I use a canvas sling. While stalking, the sling comes off. Just my opine! |
