Re: .450 #2 snap caps

Enid

Sorry this response it belated I have not visited the site for some time.

you may want to drop (by e-mail) Kynamco in the U.K a line, they offer nickel plated snap caps for many of the older N.E calibres using their own brass cases as the chasis for the caps, the primer pockets are filled with a hard moulded rubber plug of a much harder composition that pencil eraser or silicone.

They work fine and re-assert themselves after letting down the strikers.

In the U.K a pair of caps wil lcost around the £23 mark ($40 app).

I do not know if the .450 #2 is in their standard list but as they are none too complex a design they may well run you up a pair.

Alternatively you could try Holland and Holland in Bruton Street, London, the person to contact their being Peter Chismon, he is the person who handles all rifle accessories and guncases, I am certain Peter would be able to commission a pair for you although the price is likely to be a "little higher" possibly around £70, but these would be made as a one-off order.

Hope this helps
