A front sight hood is one of those things you always get. I use them enough that I've replaced missing ones on a couple of DRs. I find them handy when hunting in the open in bright sun and they protect the bead when riding in the hunting car. If you don't like it, just leave it in the case.

Some continental DRs had a front trigger that was a single set trigger (you pushed forward on the trigger to set it), as opposed to a double set trigger on a single barrel rifle. These were especially common on pre-war German double rifles. I haven't seen one on a new DR in years.
