Heard back from Butch. I saw a 500NE underlever he listed for sale, and was going to offer to wrastle him for it. Alas, he still has it but it is not for sale. He is keeping it to prototype a new design. Here's the response I received:

Yes, I still have the 500 Underlever. It's no longer for sale because I'm using it to design a Bissel Rising Bite third fastener. I get bored very easy.

That terminology sent me scrambling for the books. The design has nothing to do with a vacuum system that sucks up the game you just shot. It is a design that makes the action rock solid. Two locking points can still result in some shimmy. Three is like triangulating a point on a map. All 3 need to seat and lock.
