Welcome to the party, my friend. You are about to jump into one of the worst addictions I can think of - DRs!!!!! Even when you get your paws on the first one, you start itching for a second.

I'll be at DSC with a number of other fellers from the "Double Rifle Shooters Society." We'll be sporting our DRSS hats with Double Rifle Shooters Society on the side. So if you see someone with "Clark7781" or "577 NitroExpress" on the back, introduce yourself.

Love your post and feel your addiction to big doubles. I have a .500 NE DR and a number of other big guns. My pop, Doc52 on here, also shoots a .50 BMG and is awaiting delivery of our .577 NE from Butch.

My two cents - if you are going to go big, get the .500 first. I hunt jackrabbits and trees in Texas with my .500 and it does a number (a little joke directed back at me from my hunt with the DRSS in Crowell, Texas).

For the .577, get that second ;-)
