Colorado: Did the salesman tell you that the .375 was a Jeffery? I assume that he also gave you the 1960 date? Sounds like these guys may be making this stuff up as they go along. It isn't a Jeffery - they don't know what it is. The guy I talked to said there is no legible maker's name anywhere on it. No name on the action and that on the barrels was buffed out when they were improperly refinished. The gun has Birmingham 1925 rule proof marks (which means it was proved between 1925 and 1954) and has a serial number of 5258, which isn't a W. J. Jeffery number from that period. From the portion of the barrel inscription that survives, it was built for an Indian retailer and sold to an Indian noble, so it is probably pre-WWII. Proof marks are for Flanged Magnum.
