For an even more modern looking round, check out a .318 Rigby round or even the .303 with radius shoulder and it was originally a BP round. They loaded 70gr. of BP as a solid plug, then put a wad on top, then formed the shoulder and neck with a bullet in place. You can get perhaps 45 to 50gr. 3F in the .303 case using a drop tube, no where near the 70gr. used originally. The ballistics were a 215gr. RN around 1,900fps using Black Powder! |
