He's right. Quite a few .400/.350s and .350 No. 2s (and .400/.360s as well of, course) have been rechambered, rebored and reproved to 9.3X74R, most in recent years. Paul Roberts in particular has made a specialty of this. It has nothing to do with a lack of bullets.
Paul says that there is a strong market on the continent for British doubles in 9.3X74R for driven boar shooting. Since the British built very few doubles in 9.3, these conversions are the answer. The conversion seems to increase the value of an otherwise nice .400/.360 or .400/.350 by roughly 2500 pounds on the continental market. Once Paul gets his hands on a nice .350 or .360, it gets cut. I saw a pristine Rigby .350 No. 2 best sidelock ejector that had been converted in his shop when I was there last.
