Y'all don't have to spend 40K to get into a beginner's DR at all unless you want to. You can get deals for 5.5K to 8.5K for doubles ranging from 9.3X74's to 470 NE's in the used rifle market. In fact, you don't have to start with the biggest caliber at all. One of my biggest regrets is in not getting a 9.3 DR when the prices were reallllly cheap.
