Welcome to the forum. I am new here as well, and only a couple of years older than you. In the short time I have been a member of this board, my knowledge on the subject of doubles has probably trippled. The people are the nicest of any internet forum you will find. The pleasure of their company is only surpassed by their knowledge of doubles, fine quality magazines, single shots, shotguns and the Express cartridges.

As a way to bring myself closer to the purchase of a double, I have set aside a given amount of money each month into a fund that I refuse to tap into for external uses. Hopefully within ten years or less I will be able to own a fine English boxlock in a smaller (.400-.475 range) caliber. In the mean time, I have dedicated my spare time to study, more study and yet even more study of the rifles. Don't know if this approach helps you any with your quest for affording a double, but it is a thought for you to consider.
