Great cartridge. Double rifles in this caliber are not particulary common. This was one of the first rounds dropped by Kynoch post-WWII. Guns are most often needlessly heavy. Recently saw a very nice Wilkes that was 9lbs. 3oz., but that's rare. Usually 10lbs plus. Essentially a .450/.400 3" necked down. Base diameter is very slightly smaller though and with some guns I hear this can be a problem. Also rim is .060" max vs .065". This is why, if you have to form it, yeah, it can be a bitch. New .360 No. 2 brass is now available from Kynoch. Factory ammo also. I've heard that Horneber is now making his first run of it as well. Woodleigh makes the proper 320 grain softs and solids. -------------------------------------------------------------- |
