Reno? Hm. I'm in the works of taking on employment which will take me to Hawaii. I'll be recieving turnover packages for two new projects either later this week or early next week. From there I think my hands will be very full. A trip to Reno for the shindig and associated hootinany might be able to fit into the schedule-as-it-unfurls, I'll be playing the entertainment and hobby schedule by ear from here on out into the next three or so months. I'll cross a finger. Might be able to get out there. Might be out in Hawaii instead though, and that wouldn't be such a drag after all. I took a look back into the thread on CFA's blown Dominion thinking there might be something to get out of comparing the details of the death of his H&H and the apparent loss of this gun. Any way it goes, I don't think I'll be spending anything on early century english guns around thoughts of actually using them with full nitro loads and solid-design bullets. My money will go on european (something from Ferlach anyone?) guns when it comes time to get into a vintage NitroExpress DG rifle for actual hard-hitting DG work on animals big and tough enough to warrant the use of solids. Or just order something built down there at Butch Searcy's shop. What was that, nine elephant and god knows how many other game animals taken with FiveHundredGrains' Searcy? Own the old british rifles for showing in the smoking room. Buy something a bit tougher to get out and hunt with... --Tinker |
