I've found there to be some very enthusiastic brand loyalty around the Woodleigh brand of bullets too. I don't necessarily have anything against them, or the guy who makes them. I've seen difficulty around getting past the 'gold standard' type of attitude some folks have around that brand when getting to the *what's what* part of the conversation and comparison of them against other bullets. For instance, in the case of my search for the good jacketed bullet for my Tolley, it took my posting photos of sectioned Woodleigh and Hornady bullets alongside lead hardness testing results to make the impression stick that the Hornady RNSN jacketed 350grainer with the elemental copper jacket was easier on the bore than the Woodleigh bullet of similar design, but with a thicker jacket of harder and tougher guilding metal alloy. I like the -what's what- approach, and could give a whack about who made the bullets, so long as they're well made, relilable, and are gonna be available for some time to come. --Tinker |
