Re: recoil after cataract operation

I had the plastic lens put in both eyes five years ago.
My eye doctor is a member at the same range where I shoot and his only warning was to give it a little time to heal completely -30 days or so- before shooting any of my big bores.
I haven't had any problem at all and shoot my .500-3" Express double rifle and various other big bores (.416, .458 etc.) with no ill effects.
The plastic lens probably weighs less than your natural lens + a cataract so the effect of recoil should be less severe.
By the way, my Dr. did the operation through an incision so small that stitches were not required and I read the 20/20 chart line in his office the next morning.
Wish I had done it sooner but good luck on yours. Dave
