Is your rifle a rimmed or belted 300?

You should be able to change out the scope if you want and if you learn to hand load you may be able to tighten up the 180 grain loads. 3" is not to shabby though.

There are a couple of places where you can have handloads worked up that may help but they are not cheap. Doing it yourself is better and cheaper.
